Lotuff: Your bag now and forever
I recently did a large cabinet purge, the kind in which you bring outside resources (specifically my friend Maddy and our editorial director Stefani) to help make difficult decisions about what stays and what happens. There are certain categories in which I have done a better job of curatorship than others. While I had 10 ill-fitting white shirts and 1,000 gray t-shirts I did not love, there were handbags and shoes that I held in my chest and I declared “Now and forever” pieces. These pieces were the shoes that I will have reused until I am in a wheelchair and the handbags that I will pass on to my grandchildren. And although I have had some of these pieces for a little over a year, some items have remained as staple foods for five years. What do they all have in common? They have a timeless design and are designed to last. And yes, this can come with a price tag.
