It’s getting hot outside, which means it’s time to put all those winter clothes under the bed to make room for the summer. New clothes, make-up and, of course, shoes, but wait, was not there something else you came up with that would inspire your friends to follow you and turn you into the bonafide trendsetter of the summer of 2017? Oh ya … a tattoo!
The off-season is usually the best time to get colored, because when the summer rolls by, everything is already healed and looks good. But do not worry, if you do not plan ahead and fall into the category “World Class Zauderer”, it’s never too late. Regardless of whether you have already decided on a design or not, if you are planning to get a tattoo this summer, this article is a must. Here you will find a collection of different tattoo designs that show the best trends that are guaranteed to be found everywhere this summer. Do not miss!
This single flower.
We know flower tattoos are absolutely everywhere on our blog, but since it’s summer, and they are no less popular, expect a lot of floral tattoos over the summer when artists meet the demands of their customers. This blooms features a touch of white ink to subtly highlight the light pink tones.
For those of you who have never been to a European folk festival, you miss it. The maypole dance is a fascinating event where colorful pieces of fabric are wrapped and woven around a large pole. The scale of the maypole varies considerably, but most have a ring at the top where all the banners are anchored.
Sometimes a little courage and a bold design can really pay off. If your work permits, hand tattoos can be done with devastating effects, as shown in the photo above. With all the negative stigma surrounding finger and hand tattoos, it’s nice to see people NGAF. While the big daisy attracts the most attention in this case, the wrist area is definitely our favorite.
This blooming rose.
It’s hard to say who started the whole “Blossoming flower” concept, but with more and more artists starting to experiment with the design, we’re treated to a variety of different styles, each with its own unique twist. This design features a full stem on the rose in the last stage of bloom.
This abstract tropical design.
Good luck if you take this design to your local tattoo artist and say “this please”. But it’s a spectacular presentation of just how beautiful and awesome abstract designs can be. Whatever you have in mind, remember to give it an abstract touch for a unique feeling.
This micro hummingbird.
If you are a little nervous to get a tattoo, or maybe just a cautious person by nature, a small tattoo may turn out to be a perfect compromise if you get a bigger piece and get nothing at all. As for the amazing little act above, we are not sure what we like more, the design or the location. Everything fit together perfectly.
This beautiful mandala gradient.
As much as we love Jasmine’s concept of riding an elephant, which really stands out in this design, there is the beautiful gradient throughout the piece and the way it blends in perfectly with the ornamental pattern. So much can be done with this color / pattern combination.
These watercolor waves.
I know, I never shut my mouth with Georgias brushstroke, but come on, you have eyes too. Waves are the perfect summer tattoo that will definitely make you the perfect Instagram photo in the hope of having your 5 minutes of fame.
This camellia blossom.
How nice is that? It’s always nice to see the lesser-known flowers get their time, especially if they look that way. When we compare modern floral tattoos with those made 15 years ago, the difference is between day and night. Most people attribute it to better inks, but it’s actually a combination of better inks and better technology.
This gorgeous floral thigh piece.
